About Us- Cynthia

I loved my third grade teacher, Miss Elizabeth Hageman. She was just about perfect, and I wanted to be just like her. By the time I was in sixth grade, I knew that I wanted to teach in a one-room school house in Western Nebraska. I even knew where I wanted to go to college - Chadron State College. When the time came to attend college, God had other plans for me, and those plans didn't include Chadron State College or a one-room school house. However, I did earn my teaching degree from Central University of Iowa, Pella, IA. I began teaching fourth grade in Hampton, in north central Iowa. Soon I married Ron and moved to St. Louis, continued teaching fourth grade in Affton, MO, and earned my masters degree in education. When we began our family, there was never any doubt that I was going to homeschool our children. So, I finally reached that sixth-grade goal of teaching in a one-room school house - my own! I thoroughly love teaching my children, instilling in them, first, a love for God as they learn about how important a relationship with Him is. They are growing. I am growing. We are doing it together. It is my prayer that my love for Jesus Christ and for teaching and for children comes through these pages loud and clear. I hope you are blessed by this website.   ~ Cynthia

About Us- Diane

Though I officially "retired" from public school teaching this past May, my life continues to be productive as evidenced by my every growing and changing to-do lists. (Notice the plural on lists?) My desire in my retirement is to be more intentional in my bible study and meditation on His word, as well as on my writing.
Our family has grown in the past two years- we welcomed Sarah and her son, Jace, as well as our new granddaughter, Eden. Our other grandchildren, Gavin and Brooke, are growing up so fast and keep busy with, respectively, sports and dancing.
Cynthia and I have spent some time studying together, but have not worked on any projects lately. I have a strong feeling that's about to change, though. I can hear Cynthia's wheels going as I write! Whatever work we feel led to pursue, our hope and prayer will continue to be that this site will provide you with lessons, devotions, and resources to grow you and your family in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
