There are all kinds of animals which visit our pond! I saw the tracks of deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the neighobr's cat (and the present he left right in the middle of the path). It's amazing how the snow made obvious how much my path is visited by other critters. Similarly, the adversity in our lives tends to illuminate for us who is also on the path with us.
It took a few more laps around the pond before I realized something else. I don't know if we have this much traffic on a daily basis, but a major reason for all the visitors right now is that they are thirsty. To my dismay, there were deer tracks on the pond. I didn't know the ice was thick enough to support the weight of a deer! Then it hit me: the adversity (of the cold weather) caused others of God's creation to seek water.
